Board Service

Investment Advisory Board - The Treasurer is a statutory member of the Investment Advisory Board, which shall meet at least once every three months, to review or revise its policies and to advise the investing authority on the county investments in order to ensure the best and safest return of funds available to the county for deposit or investment. Any member of the county investment advisory committee, upon giving five days' notice, may call a meeting of the committee. The committee's policies may establish a limit on the period of time that moneys may be invested in any particular type of investment.

Budget Commission - The Treasurer is a statutory member of the Budget Commission which also includes the County Auditor and the Prosecutor. It is the responsibility of the Commission to annually review the tax budgets of all taxing districts within the county and to determine that all tax levies are properly authorized and allocated to local governments and libraries.

Board of Revision - The Treasurer is a statutory member of the Board of Revision which also includes the County Auditor and the President of the Board of Commissioners. It is the responsibility of the Board of Revision to rule on property assessment prior to the issuance of the real estate tax list. Property valuation complaints are also heard.

Automatic Data Processing Board - The Treasurer is a member of the Automatic Data Processing Board and county purchases for electronics, computers, etc. must be approved by this board.

Microfilming Board - Equipment and services purchased to reduce documents to microfilmed images must be approved by this board.
