Miami County Municipal Court

In order to protect individual rights and provide for due process of law, guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States and the State of Ohio, the mission of the Miami County Municipal Court is to advance the fair and impartial administration of justice. The Court is committed to providing prompt, courteous, and respectful public service with the highest level of integrity and efficiency.

  • Clerk of Courts: The Miami County Clerk of Courts, Shawn Peeples, is responsible for all clerk functions for both the Common Pleas and Municipal Court, as well as the Miami County Title Department.
  • Probation: The word probation is derived from the phrase “to prove”. It gives a convicted offender the opportunity to prove that they do not require incarceration, and offers the offender the resources that will assist them in changing their criminal thought process through evidence based practices by the Probation Department, and in an effort to reduce recidivism.
  • Court Services: The goal of the Miami County Municipal Court Services is to manage all services of the Court, under direction of the elected Judges, and through the Court Administrator. Efficient, fair, and impartial public service remains a priority of the court.
  • Bailiff / Court Security: The Court Bailiffs provide security for the courthouse, and provides for the service of subpoenas to witnesses and victims of crime, summonses for small claims suits, eviction hearings, garnishment hearings, debtors exams, and contempt hearings. They transport prisoners to and from jail for their court hearings, screens the public for prohibited items prior to entering the courtrooms and assist the judges and magistrate in the daily operation of court sessions.
