About Greg Simmons:

Mr. Simmons elected for his first term in November 2016, commencing on
January 2, 2017. He was re-elected with his term to begin January 1, 2021. Greg is a
graduate of Piqua Central High School and is Edison States first graduate. He also
obtained a Bachelors and Masters degree in Education, from Wright State University and
Parkersburg Bible College. He served four years in the United States Navy being deployed
overseas three times during the Vietnam conflict. He is the founder and retired Senior
Pastor of The Upper Room Worship Center. He remains an active part of the Pastoral team
supporting the lead pastor and community events. He directed government agencies for
over 25 years. He retired from Director of West Central Juvenile Facility after
working in that position over 14 years. Greg and his wife reside in Tipp City, Ohio.
They have six children and thirteen grandchildren, all of which reside in Miami
County, but one. They are active supporters in the community.

2003 - Alumnus Award from the Ohio Association of Community Colleges

Received two Certification of Appreciation awards from the Miami County Commissioners

2002 - Recognition from State Legislation of Ohio

2001 - Received a Bob Radar award: Chosen as Top Director in the Nation from the National Juvenile Detention Association

1985 - Received a Governor's Award for working with FEMA in the West Virginia Flood
